SUBMISSION OF STATE REPORTS |
In accordance with Article 62 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights, States Parties to the Charter are required to submit every two years, a report on the legislative or other measures taken, with a view to giving effect to the rights and freedoms recognised and guaranteed by the Charter.

Interim Rules of the ACHPR
This is to inform the general public that during its 44th Ordinary Session held from 10 – 24 November 2008, in Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria, the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the African Commission) finalized consideration of its Revised Rules of Procedure. The African Commission adopted the Rules as the Interim Rules of the African Commission pending a meeting with the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the African Court) to discuss and harmonise the Rules of the two institutions. The African Commission also decided that its Rules will not come into force immediately, but will wait for the harmonization to take place.
While waiting for the meeting with the African Court, the African Commission is publishing its Rules to allow for comments and contributions from its partners and other institutions and individuals interested in the African Human Rights System in general and the work of the African Commission in particular. It is hoped that this will further enrich the Rules and enhance the work of the African Commission.

The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) is the premier regional institution responsible for the promotion and protection of human and peoples’ rights in Africa. It was established in 1987 by the Organisation of African Unity (“the OAU”), now the African Union (“the AU”), under Article 30 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights (“the African Charter”) as an autonomous treaty body. Its Headquarters is located in Banjul, The Gambia.
In order to execute its core functions effectively, the ACHPR wishes to engage the services of reputable firm to provide the following services on a two year renewable contract. These are:
