Information about

The new website was rebuilt from scratch. The old ACHPR website you can access at The most important changes in terms of content, navigation and functionality are described below. Don't hesitate to contact the ACHPR webmaster (email: webmaster [at] if you have any questions.

Multilingual website

The website can be navigated in English, French, Portuguese and Arabic. The titles of all pages were translated in four languages, but not the content. i.e. there may be a mission report available only in english, but at least the title of the report is translated.

State Reporting

The number of overdue reports is calculated automatically:

  • the difference (in months) between current date and the date of submission of the latest report of a state is being calculated;
  • If the difference is less then 2 years (24 months), the state has no overdue reports and is colored in green;
  • based on the difference in months, yellow and red colors are being used;
  • states that have not ratified African Charter a colored in gray.

Notice that the date of submission of the latest report is being used, instead of the reporting period mentioned in the report.

The last column in the states list denotes the ratification status (to which extent the states have ratified binding instruments). A more detailed explanation is provided below the states list.

The list of states is sorted alphabeticaly, but can also be sorted by ACHPR Ratification, number of Overdue Reports and Ratification Status
