On 29 December 2011, the Committee held a meeting with a number of representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs), based in Douala. This meeting provided an opportunity for the Committee to interact with different stakeholders who work for promotion and protection of the rights of people living with HIV (PLHIV). The representatives present had the opportunity to give a brief overview of the work done by their respective organizations, and to inquire about the Committee, and the African Commission’s work. Committee members also informed participants present how to interact with the African Commission, through obtaining observer status with the Commission, submitting reports to the Commission, involvement in the NGO Forum and through submitting individual complaints or communications for consideration.
